Osun 2026: AMBO Unveils Mechanised Farming Agenda in Ijesa North, Secures Royal Blessings for APC Victory

OBOKUN/ORIADE, OSUN STATE – The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Osun State gubernatorial election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has pledged to transform the state's agricultural sector through mechanised farming, promising increased support for farmers and improved rural infrastructure if elected governor.

Speaking during the APC governorship campaign tour across the Ijesa North Federal Constituency, Oyebamiji

assured residents of Obokun and Oriade Local Government Areas that his administration would prioritise modern agricultural practices through the provision of hybrid seedlings, farm inputs, mechanised equipment and the creation of reliable markets for agricultural produce.

The campaign also received a significant boost as prominent traditional rulers, including the Alademure of Ibokun, Oba Festus Kayode Awogboro, and the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Moses Olufemi Agunsoye, offered prayers for Oyebamiji's electoral victory, describing him as a man of integrity and exemplary character.

Addressing party leaders, supporters and residents in Ibokun and Ijebu-Jesa, the APC standard-bearer said agriculture remains the backbone of the local economy and would receive priority attention under his administration.

"This is an agrarian community where our fathers, mothers and youths depend largely on farming. We will encourage mechanised farming to improve productivity and make agriculture more profitable. The era of distributing hybrid seedlings will begin immediately our government comes on board," Oyebamiji declared.

He further promised that an APC-led administration would provide farmers with modern equipment, quality farm inputs and improved access to markets while rehabilitating critical road networks to ease the transportation of agricultural produce.

"We have the capacity and the political will to reposition agriculture in Osun. We will support our farmers, create ready markets for their produce and fix our rural roads to complement agricultural development," he added.

Oyebamiji also expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic reception extended to him throughout the campaign tour, assuring residents that their support would be rewarded with purposeful governance focused on development, economic growth and improved livelihoods.

Receiving the APC candidate in their respective palaces, the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa and the Alademure of Ibokun commended Oyebamiji's humility, leadership qualities and Omoluabi values, praying for divine guidance and victory for him in the August governorship election.

"We have heard positive testimonies about you. Everywhere people speak of your good character and Omoluabi virtues. We pray that God grants your heart's desires and continues to guide you," the monarchs said.

The campaign train moved from Obokun, headquarters of Obokun Local Government Area, to Ijebu-Jesa, headquarters of Oriade Local Government Area, attracting large crowds of party faithful, supporters and residents.

In his remarks, Oyebamiji appreciated the massive turnout and unwavering support displayed by the people, praying that they would live long to enjoy the dividends of the confidence and affection they had shown towards his aspiration.
