Osogbo, Osun State — The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has alleged that Governor Ademola Adeleke's recent public statements reflect what he described as growing anxiety over the forthcoming election.

Speaking with journalists during a campaign engagement, Oyebamiji claimed that the governor's comments were an indication that he was anticipating defeat at the polls.

The APC candidate also urged Governor Adeleke to avoid remarks or actions that could heighten political tension, stressing the need to respect constituted authorities, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He further criticised what he described as "unguarded utterances" directed at APC leaders and members, saying such comments were inappropriate and should be avoided.

According to Oyebamiji, the APC's campaign tour across the state has strengthened his confidence in the party's chances of victory.

"We have visited 27 local government areas, and the turnout has been encouraging. Many people have expressed support for our candidacy and told us they are looking forward to a change in leadership," he said.

He maintained that the APC would emerge victorious in the governorship election, expressing confidence that he would be elected governor on August 15.

Oyebamiji also appealed to residents of the state to conduct themselves peacefully on election day.

"I want to advise our supporters and the people of Osun State to go to their polling units peacefully because we want this election to be free, fair and credible. We are confident of victory," he stated.

The comments come amid heightened political activities ahead of the governorship election, with both the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the opposition APC intensifying campaigns across the state.
