President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has unveiled the Federal Government’s Reforms Scorecard, saying Nigerians deserve a clear account of the impact, costs and gains of the economic reforms introduced by his administration since 2023.
Tinubu, in a message to Nigerians, said the reforms were initiated with the objective of building a stronger economy and creating a better future for citizens and generations yet unborn.
According to the President, the scorecard provides an assessment of what the reforms have achieved, the challenges and costs associated with them, as well as the greater economic consequences the government believes were avoided by taking decisive action.
He consequently directed the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, to present the government’s account to Nigerians and explain the figures, policy choices, progress recorded and areas where further work is required.
“You deserve to see the numbers. You deserve to know what has changed and what these reforms mean for you, your family, your business and our country,” Tinubu said.
The President maintained that transparency remained important in assessing the reforms and their implications for Nigerians.
“This is your government. This is your country. This is our account to you,” he added.
The Federal Government has invited Nigerians to watch the Reforms Scorecard livestream on the official YouTube channel of the State House.
The presentation is expected to provide further details on the administration’s economic policies and their reported effects on the Nigerian economy.
