Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, OFR, representing Osun East Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industries, has congratulated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, and the people of Ile-Ife on the celebration of this year’s Olojo Festival.
In a statement issued by his Head of Media and Public Enlightenment, Mr. Omole Oluwasegun, the Ilase-Ijesa-born lawmaker expressed delight in joining sons and daughters of Ile-Ife, both at home and in the diaspora, to commemorate the significant cultural festival.
Senator Fadahunsi described the Olojo Festival as more than a cultural celebration, noting that it represents a profound affirmation of identity, unity and the rich heritage of Ile-Ife, widely regarded as the cradle of Yoruba civilisation.
According to him, the festival embodies thanksgiving, renewal and the enduring connection of the Yoruba people to their history, culture and shared destiny.
The senator also commended the Ooni of Ife for his continued efforts towards preserving Yoruba traditions, promoting peace and advancing development in Ile-Ife and across Yorubaland.
He noted that the monarch’s leadership has continued to inspire cultural pride while contributing to the global recognition of Yoruba heritage.
As the festivities continue, Senator Fadahunsi urged all sons and daughters of Ile-Ife to remain law-abiding and uphold the values of peace, unity and progress.
He prayed that the Olojo Festival would usher in prosperity, harmony and divine blessings for Ile-Ife, Yorubaland, Osun State and Nigeria at large.
The lawmaker further prayed for God’s guidance and protection throughout and beyond the celebrations, expressing appreciation for the festival’s enduring role in preserving and promoting Yoruba traditions.
Senator Fadahunsi also wished the Ooni of Ife a long, peaceful and successful reign on the throne of his ancestors.
