Countdown to 2026: INEC’s Agboke Meets Osun Online Publishers at 9th Media Parley

The Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) is set to host Dr. Mutiu Olaleke Agboke, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State, at its 9th Media Parley on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

The session, themed “INEC’s Preparation Towards Osun 2026 Gubernatorial Election,” will provide a platform for deep conversations on the commission’s readiness ahead of next year’s governorship polls. Discussions will spotlight key issues such as voter registration, Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and strategies to ensure credible electoral processes.

In a statement on Tuesday in Osogbo, OOPA Chairman, Mukhtar Ajelogbon, said the event will hold at the association’s Secretariat in Ajegunle, Osogbo, beginning at 12 noon.

Dr. Agboke is expected to engage directly with members of the online media community, address critical electoral concerns, and share insights into INEC’s roadmap towards a free, fair, and transparent election in the state.

The parley, which has become a recurring civic engagement platform, will be streamed live on the official Facebook page of the Osun Online Publishers Association to allow wider participation from the public.
