— From the Wole Oke Constituency Office
Honourable Wole Oke has dismissed recent commentaries directed at him, saying his attention remains firmly on the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) quest for victory in the 2026 gubernatorial election.
In a statement issued by his Constituency Office, Oke noted that he is “too serious and fully focused” on ensuring the success of the APC, stressing that he will not be distracted by speculations, provocations, or premature political debates.
The lawmaker has recently become the subject of repeated attacks from members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following his defection to the APC. Party sources and political observers note that his exit has significantly weakened the PDP’s political structure in parts of the state, a development believed to have triggered sustained criticism from some party figures.
According to the statement, Oke considers the growing attention from his critics as a reflection of the political impact of his decision to join the APC, rather than a matter requiring personal engagement.
“He remains committed to party unity and mobilisation ahead of the 2026 governorship election,” the statement said, adding that his focus is on strengthening the APC across the constituency and beyond.
The statement further noted that Oke believes elections are won through organisation, discipline, and collective effort, not through media exchanges or personal attacks.
As political activities gradually build toward 2026, the Constituency Office reaffirmed that the lawmaker will continue to prioritise party cohesion and electoral success, while avoiding distractions that do not advance the APC’s broader objectives.
