eclared that the state deserves a new direction, insisting that his party is prepared to provide purposeful leadership capable of transforming healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and employment opportunities across the state.
Dr. Orisunlagba made the declaration during a media parley organized by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA), where he unveiled his vision for a prosperous Osun under a PRP-led administration.
The event was attended by the Osun State Chairman of the PRP, Hon. Kashim Raji; the State Organizing Secretary, Comrade Abiodun Falodun; the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Adio Williams; and Joseph Oyelami, spokesperson to the governorship candidate.
Speaking on the state's political future, Orisunlagba acknowledged the efforts of the current administration but maintained that Osun requires a higher level of development and governance.
"I was once a governorship candidate, and while the incumbent government has done its best, Osun deserves the best. The time has come for a new government that will be led by the People's Redemption Party," he said.
Reflecting on previous elections, the PRP candidate criticized the culture of excessive spending by political office holders seeking re-election, noting that public resources should be directed toward projects that improve the welfare of citizens rather than political campaigns.
As a medical practitioner, Orisunlagba emphasized that healthcare would be the cornerstone of his administration, promising to build a system capable of attracting patients from within and outside Nigeria.
"We know how to take care of our people. The people of Osun will use our hospitals, government officials will use our hospitals, and people from other parts of the world will come to Osun for quality medical treatment. We want to reverse the Japa syndrome and make Osun a place of honour and opportunities," he stated.
According to him, a PRP government would revive primary healthcare centres across the state and strengthen the health insurance system to ensure that every resident has access to affordable and quality healthcare services.
"Our universal health insurance programme will be compulsory for every resident. We will ensure that nobody is denied access to healthcare because of financial constraints," he added.
The governorship hopeful also highlighted his administration's development blueprint, tagged "Orisunlagba Tako-Tabo Agenda," which focuses on agriculture, infrastructure, education, employment generation, and human capital development.
He pledged to reposition the education sector by nurturing future leaders, innovators, scientists, legal professionals, and entrepreneurs through targeted investments in schools and youth development programmes.
"We are going to produce leaders from our secondary schools who will become innovators, scientists, world-class lawyers, and professionals that will compete globally," he said.
Orisunlagba further expressed concern over the unemployment situation in the country, noting that many educated young Nigerians are forced into informal jobs despite possessing valuable academic qualifications.
"I still see many neat and hardworking commercial motorcycle riders today. When you interact with some of them, you discover they are graduates who have created jobs for themselves because opportunities are limited.
"Whenever people say Nigerian youths are lazy, I strongly disagree. Look at the young men and women selling goods along the highways from Ilesa to Ikire. They work tirelessly every day. These young people want to work; they do not want to steal. The challenge is that society is not rewarding their hard work adequately," he said.
The PRP candidate assured residents that his administration would prioritize job creation, economic empowerment, and sustainable development aimed at improving living standards across the state.
He called on Osun residents to support the PRP's vision, promising transparent governance and people-oriented policies that would position the state as a model of progress and development in Nigeria.
