Says Osun Must Embrace Agriculture as Improved Cocoa Seedlings Are Distributed in Support of AMBO-ATIDE 2026 and President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda
The All Progressives Congress (APC) continued its grassroots mobilisation drive in Osun State on Friday as the Next Level Progressive Movement (NLPM), Osun State Chapter, distributed improved cocoa seedlings to farmers in Obokun Local Government Area as part of efforts to promote agricultural development and rural economic growth.
The empowerment programme, held at the APC Secretariat, Abe Igi Aanu, Otan-Ile, attracted party leaders, stakeholders, community representatives, and cocoa farmers from across the local government. The initiative was organised in support of the Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO-ATIDE) 2026 governorship project and aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Addressing the gathering, Amb. Otunba Ajibola Olujobi, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, described agriculture as a strategic sector that deserves greater investment, urging Osun residents to embrace farming as a pathway to economic prosperity and sustainable development.
He commended the Next Level Progressive Movement for initiating the cocoa seedlings distribution programme, describing it as another practical demonstration of the APC's commitment to improving the welfare of farmers and strengthening rural communities.
According to him, increasing investment in agriculture will not only improve food security but also enhance livelihoods, create employment opportunities, and stimulate economic growth across the state.
Amb. Olujobi further assured beneficiaries of sustained support for programmes that promote agricultural productivity and empower cocoa farmers in Obokun Local Government, stressing that the APC remains committed to policies and initiatives that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.
The distribution of improved cocoa seedlings formed part of the movement's broader agricultural empowerment strategy aimed at boosting cocoa production, increasing farmers' incomes, and supporting the long-term development of Osun State's agricultural sector.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the organisers, describing the intervention as timely and impactful. They pledged to cultivate the improved seedlings effectively to achieve higher yields and contribute to the continued growth of cocoa production in Obokun Local Government and Osun State at large.
