Popular Nigerian content creator, Ademola Abiodun, widely known as DJ Chicken, has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre following his arraignment before a Magistrate's Court in Ogba, Lagos, over allegations of threatening the life of Seyi Tinubu.
DJ Chicken was brought before Magistrate M.F. Onamusi on Friday to answer a three-count charge bordering on alleged threat to kill, conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace, and offences said to contravene the Cybercrime Act.
According to the prosecution, the charges stem from alleged threatening statements made by the social media personality against Seyi Tinubu. Prosecutors argued that the defendant's actions constituted criminal intimidation and were capable of disrupting public order.
Following his arraignment, the court ordered that DJ Chicken be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the determination of his bail application and further proceedings in the case.
The case has generated widespread attention across social media, with many Nigerians closely following developments due to the personalities involved and the increasing scrutiny of online content creators under Nigeria's cybercrime laws.
The matter was subsequently adjourned to a later date for continuation of legal proceedings. As of the time of filing this report, the defendant has not been convicted, and the allegations remain before the court.
