LAGELU, OYO STATE — The political momentum surrounding the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagelu State Constituency has received a fresh boost as key stakeholders and grassroots mobilisers rallied behind the candidacy of Hon. Olaore Naheem Oladimeji, describing him as a credible and capable choice to represent the constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly in 2027.

The development followed a strategic consultation visit by Hon. Olaore to Hon. Olayinka Segelu, a respected political stakeholder in Lagelu, where both leaders held extensive discussions on the future of the constituency and the need for purposeful leadership, unity and grassroots-driven development.

Hon. Olaore was accompanied during the visit by Hon. Azeez Saheed, who represented the ADC candidate for Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency, alongside the Lagelu Local Government Publicity Secretary of the ADC and a member of the party's State Executive.

The meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to deliberate on the political future of Lagelu and explore ways of building a stronger and more united political structure capable of delivering meaningful representation to the people.

Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Olayinka Segelu stressed the need for a new direction in Lagelu, arguing that the constituency requires a representative with fresh ideas, energy and a demonstrated commitment to service.

He declared his support for Hon. Olaore, saying:

“The 3.0 cannot work in Lagelu. We have seen what they are capable of doing. It is time we give a new person a chance. And the right and most capable person for the job is Hon. Naheem Oladimeji Olaore.”

Segelu subsequently pledged his 100 per cent commitment to supporting the ADC candidate and working towards the party's success in Lagelu ahead of the 2027 elections.

The endorsement received another boost from Chief Manhood Adegboyega, a prominent grassroots mobiliser who was also present at the meeting.

Chief Adegboyega disclosed that he had previously aligned with another faction of the ADC, believing it represented the authentic candidates, but said subsequent developments had convinced him to realign with Hon. Olaore's political movement.

He pledged to work for the emergence of Hon. Olaore as the next representative of Lagelu State Constituency, while also promising to deploy his grassroots network in support of the ADC.

According to him, he currently has over 4,000 widows under his care and empowerment scheme and intends to mobilise them in support of the ADC candidates during the 2027 elections, including the party's governorship candidate, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, popularly known as “SOLUTION | ATA.”

Responding on behalf of the ADC Federal Constituency candidate, Hon. Azeez Saheed assured the gathering that the Federal Constituency structure was fully aligned with the emerging political movement in Lagelu.

He said the various structures would soon be harmonised, after which the party would commence a comprehensive campaign across the wards of the local government.

The consultation visit ended on a note of renewed optimism, with the stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to building a stronger political structure and pursuing what they described as a new direction for Lagelu.

For Hon. Olaore Naheem Oladimeji and his supporters, the engagement represents another step in the ongoing grassroots consultation and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 Oyo State House of Assembly election.
