OOPA Seeks Stronger Collaboration With INEC Ahead Of Osun 2026 Guber Election

  As the August 15 Osun governorship election draws near the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commissioner for Osun State, Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola has assured that Commission would offer full cooperation to media practitioners. Mrs Babalola also assured that the August 15 governorship election in the state will be credible, free, inclusive and transparent. Bandits Abduct 80 Children In Zamfara

No fewer than 80 children were Friday morning kidnapped by bandits in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The children are between the ages of 12 and 17, BBC Hausa reported. Some parents of the abducted children who spoke to the British broadcaster said the abductees were in the bush fetching firewood at about 8:00 a.m. when the marksmen rounded them up and wisked them away into the forest. Bandits’ activities have refused to abate in Zamfara despite several government intervention to stem the criminal activity. Hundreds of schoolchildren have been kidnapped and some later released upon payment of ransom. The abductors are yet to reach the parents to make any demands as of the time BBC reported the kidnap.

Driver Chop Off Vehicle Inspection Officer’s Ear Over Car Particular

  A yet-to-identified Sienna car driver has reportedly bitten the ear of a Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) identified as Papu Prosper. The incident occurred during a heated argument between the officer and the driver along Eagle Roundabout by Federal Government College, Warri, Delta State.
