BREAKING: Osun PDP Lawmaker Resigns Amid Deep Division

 


In a move that has sent shockwaves through Osun State’s political landscape, Hon. Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro, the member representing Ife Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


Ajilesoro, who submitted his resignation letter earlier today, cited internal disunity and deep-seated divisions within the party as the primary reasons for his departure.


 “This decision is born out of a clear lack of internal cohesion and deep-rooted divisions that have continued to widen rather than heal,” he wrote in his resignation letter addressed to the PDP leadership.




The lawmaker’s exit comes at a critical time for the PDP in Osun, which has been battling internal wrangling and factional tensions ahead of the 2026 general elections. Political observers say Ajilesoro’s resignation could further destabilize the party’s base in the Ife region, which has historically played a decisive role in Osun State elections.
