Hypocrisy at Its Peak — Rep. Oluwole Oke Slams Detractors Amid Backlash Over Political Remarks



Member representing Ijesa North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, has taken to social media to defend his recent political remarks, calling out those he described as hypocrites. In a strongly worded Facebook post, the lawmaker expressed disbelief that those who once maligned his political associates are now attacking him for expressing his views.


“I laughed at those who dragged my Governor to court over his educational qualifications and chased him out of town, yet they now question me for throwing political jabs,” Oluwole Oke wrote. His remarks appeared to target former critics of Governor Ademola Adeleke, who faced legal battles and intense scrutiny during his first gubernatorial bid.


Rep. Oluwole Oke, a notable member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, criticized what he perceived as selective outrage from members of the opposition. “As a member of APC in Osun State, they expect me to praise PDP. Awon Dindinrin (foolish people). When it suits them, they insult PBAT (President Bola Ahmed Tinubu), Asiwaju Gboyega Oyetola, and myself but they can’t take similar treatment,” he added.


He further questioned the moral standing of individuals challenging his recent statements, singling out Diran D. Toy, whom he accused of blackmailing Governor Adeleke during the 2018 elections. He also mentioned a recent petition allegedly accusing APC leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of looting £20 million, implying that these figures lacked the credibility to question his political stance.


Reflecting on his contributions to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in past elections, Oluwole Oke lamented what he described as a lack of appreciation. “Human beings have short memory. With all my investment in the PDP and during the two gubernatorial elections of 2018 and 2022, what’s my reward from Mr. Governor and his family?” he asked rhetorically.


The lawmaker concluded that instead of recognizing loyal supporters, the current PDP leadership has allegedly favored individuals who once fought against them.
