Government Building Damaged, Five Killed After Drone Attacks

Kyiv, Ukraine — Russia unleashed the largest drone assault of the war so far, killing at least five people and damaging a government building that houses the office of Ukraine’s prime minister.

It was the first time since the invasion began that a major building in the government district, an area shielded by layers of Ukrainian air defenses had been struck. The attack marked a sharp escalation, rattling the symbolic heart of Kyiv’s political leadership.

In Washington, former U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he was prepared to move forward with a new round of sanctions against Russia in response to the intensifying strikes.
