Pre
sident Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to deepen their support for locally produced goods and services as part of efforts to strengthen the nation’s economy.
Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, the President stressed that patronising home-made products would not only boost local industries but also create jobs and reduce the country’s dependence on imports.
According to him, “Nigeria has the capacity, talent and resources to meet its own needs. What we require is the collective resolve to encourage and support our manufacturers, our farmers, and our innovators. By buying Nigerian, we are investing directly in the future of this country.”
Tinubu urged businesses to improve standards and ensure that products made in Nigeria can compete favourably with those from other parts of the world. He added that government would continue to provide policies and infrastructure to support industrial growth.
The President’s appeal comes at a time when the Federal Government is intensifying measures to stabilise the economy, tackle unemployment, and promote self-sufficiency.
