“Osun APC Tackles Adeleke Over Alleged Water Infrastructure Looting, Describes Situation as National Shame”

Oriontimes Political Desk | 12th March, 2026

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the cannibalisation and subsequent looting of some of the water schemes across the state by the hoodlums suspected to be relying on the backing of the state government.

Information revealed that a certain group of hoodlums have formed themselves into a formidable team who have been invading the water schemes constructed in the various communities in the state, forcefully removing some of the equipment on the sites.

It was gathered that the criminal activities of these hoodlums who have been dropping  the name of the state government to perpetrate their heinous and anti-social activities had often resulted into exchange of fisticuffs with the people of the communities where they intended to loot their water scheme to the chagrin of the right-thinking members of the society.

Further investigation showed that these vandals going about the communities in the state with a mission to vandalise the water schemes sell the looted vital parts of the water schemes which are the legacy projects of some of the past state governors in the state.

It was revealed that while the vandals have been operating smoothly without any challenges from the locals in some communities as they were played into thinking that they were on a genuine mission, they have been meeting with resistance from them in some places which succeeded in rocking the peace of such communities.

Information also has it that the vandals of the water schemes round the state were found out to be a combination of  the  speakers of Yoruba and Igbo  languages based on the verbal disagreement with them by the locals who wouldn't want their legacy projects looted.

Further investigation further showed that the vandals of the water schemes in the state who were on their devilish mission to Igangan-Ijesa, Iperindo and  Osu  all in the Atakumosa-East and Atakumosa-West local government council areas of the state few days ago were not particularly lucky as the communities vehemently resisted the plundering of the water schemes in their domains, a development which almost turned into a full-blown war.

It is criminal for some miscreants to be going round the state with a mission to plunder and steal  the common patrimony of the state because of their closeness to the state government in one way or the other.

There's a laid down procedure for the government to dispose of its property and any government official that is selling the property of the state through the back door is definitely courting anarchy which will not be in the interest of the needed peace in the state.

We've never had it so bad in this state since the inauguration of the incumbent administration over three years ago as unusual and unpalatable incidents have become the order of the day which have obviously been putting the state in negative news reportage and subsequently retarding its progress in all ramifications.

If the reported behind-the-scene fraudulent sales of some used vehicles in all the state government-owned tertiary institutions in the state by some state and non-state actors is anything to go by, it means the incumbent government would be guilty of aiding and abetting of the criminal looting of the state.

The police and other sister statutory security services in the state  should extend their dragnet into this unsavoury development with a view to investigating, arresting and prosecuting the masterminds of this organised crime against our state.

BREAKING: Esa-Oke Youths Reunite as Survivors, Caution Pelumi against revisionism

....we’re not your campaign slogan Once upon a glorious, chaotic 2017, practically every able-bodied youth in Esa-Oke held honorary title in the land: Personal Assistant to Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi. No interviews. No pay. Just passion, blind loyalty, and the stamina to chase him from one campaign ground to the next like a political body double. From Comrade Mainframe to Comrade Swiss, from Yinka Oba to the humble football boys who carried cones like national flags, we were there. We were the movement. Until, of course. Now in 2025, Barrister Pelumi, clearly inspired by a Netflix political drama is on a media tour telling anyone who’ll listen that he "settled everyone who worked for him." Settled who, please? Maybe in his dreams or in the metaverse. In the real world, the story’s a bit different. Those of us from Obokun, who hustled day and night, got exactly zero: no thank you, no handshake. Take Sami, now a former Ward 7 councillor, no thanks from Pelumi. Folusho? Aregbe...

BREAKING: PDP Bleeds in Oriade: Commissioner Loses 14 Party Leaders to Wole Oke in Home Ward

In a significant political shift, 14 grassroots leaders, including prominent women and youth coordinators from Ward 11, covering Ijeda and Iloko in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, have resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and pledged allegiance to Hon. Wole Oke’s growing political camp in the All Progressives Congress (APC). The mass resignation, formalized in a jointly signed letter, marks a deepening crack within the PDP structure in Oriade, as key mobilizers abandon the party over what they describe as years of marginalization, poor internal democracy, and a lack of direction. Their defection is also seen as a major boost to Wole Oke’s political momentum within the APC, following his recent and controversial departure from the PDP. “We are grateful for the opportunities and experiences we had as PDP members,” the group stated, “but the party no longer reflects our values or aspirations. We believe in Hon. Wole Oke’s leadership and vision, and we are proud to...
