“Beyond Rhetoric: Reports Show Adeleke Delivering Across All Sectors in Osun”

 The Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation has dismissed recent claims by Senator Ajibola Bashiru as misleading, insisting that verifiable data from both local and federal agencies clearly shows that Governor Ademola Adeleke has delivered measurable progress across critical sectors in Osun State.

The organisation described Bashiru’s remarks alleging failure in key areas such as education and the economy as unfounded, noting that such comments emerged from what it termed internal challenges within the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the campaign, the Adeleke administration inherited a state grappling with nearly 80 percent infrastructure deficit in 2022. However, updated reports as of late 2025 indicate that this deficit has been reduced by over 40 percent, driven by aggressive infrastructure development.

The government is credited with constructing over 350 kilometers of roads, alongside three flyover bridges, and multiple ongoing dualisation projects across major towns including Ilesa, Ikirun, Ila, Iwo, and Ile-Ife.

In the education sector, Osun has reportedly recorded a remarkable turnaround. From being ranked 33rd nationally in secondary school examinations in 2022, the state climbed to 7th position by 2024 and 2025, according to NECO rankings, an improvement described as “unprecedented.”

The administration has also transformed the long-delayed University of Ilesa project into a functioning institution, boasting nearly 100 accredited courses, while simultaneously revitalising infrastructure at Osun State University to sustain academic standards.

Healthcare indicators have similarly improved. From ranking below 30th in access to primary healthcare in 2022, Osun is now reported to be number one in the South-West region, earning a million-dollar performance recognition.

In agriculture, the state has moved from zero operational tractors in 2022 to 31 tractors, supporting farmers through subsidised programmes. The government is also pursuing an ambitious cocoa expansion strategy aimed at surpassing leading producers like Ondo and Cross River states.

The digital economy has not been left behind. The state now boasts a comprehensive ICT policy, a Tech Innovation framework, and the domestication of Nigeria’s Start-Up Act, positioning Osun among forward-looking states in technology development.

Sports infrastructure has also seen a revival, with Osun set to inaugurate its first five-star stadium, alongside the establishment of the Osun State Sport Development Commission and a dedicated Sports Trust Fund.

On the economic front, reforms including tax harmonisation, a 45-day Certificate of Occupancy window, and the revival of Free Trade Zones have improved the ease of doing business and attracted new investors.

The campaign further noted that Osun’s debt profile has been significantly reduced by over 45 percent, according to the Debt Management Office (DMO), while the state has maintained strong ratings in budget transparency and audit accountability.

Additionally, Osun now ranks among the top five states in access to potable water, following the rehabilitation of water facilities and the drilling of 332 boreholes across all wards.

The organisation concluded by reaffirming its commitment to issue-based campaigning backed by verifiable data, challenging opposition voices to engage in fact-driven discourse rather than political rhetoric.
