MODAKEKE, Osun State – The political landscape in Modakeke came alive on Saturday as the apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the community, Chief Wahab Bolarinwa Adetunji (Asalu of Modakeke), distributed cash gifts and food palliatives to more than 3,000 party members in a major grassroots mobilisation drive ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election.

The large-scale empowerment programme attracted an impressive gathering of APC leaders, elders, women, youths, ward executives and party supporters, who converged to reaffirm their commitment to the party and its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

The atmosphere was marked by enthusiasm, solidarity and renewed confidence as beneficiaries received financial support and food items, with many describing the initiative as a timely intervention amid prevailing economic challenges.

Addressing party faithful during the event, Chief Adetunji said the exercise reflected his enduring commitment to the welfare of APC members and the strengthening of the party's grassroots structure.

He urged members to remain united, disciplined and committed to the collective mission of delivering a decisive victory for the APC in the forthcoming governorship election, stressing that sustained grassroots mobilisation would be critical to the party's success.

According to him, the August 15 poll offers Osun residents another opportunity to embrace purposeful leadership capable of driving sustainable development across the state.

Beneficiaries and party stakeholders commended the APC leader for what they described as his consistent investment in the welfare of party members, noting that his leadership has been defined by practical support rather than political rhetoric.

Political observers also described the programme as a significant morale booster for the APC in Modakeke, saying the massive turnout underscored Chief Adetunji's strong grassroots influence and organisational capacity.

They noted that the event has further strengthened the party's campaign structure in the ancient town as preparations intensify for the governorship election.

As campaigns gather momentum across Osun State, Chief Adetunji's latest intervention is expected to reinforce APC's grassroots network in Modakeke while inspiring greater participation among party members in the weeks leading to the poll.

Wale Amusan; APC Osun State Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi; former Supervisory Councillor for Education, Ife-East Area Council, Chief Olasupo Daud Aderemi; former Special Adviser to ex-Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Hon.
