Poll Predicts 60% Vote Share for APC, as PDP and ADC Trail Closely

 

As the political temperature in Osun State continues to rise ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election, fresh indicators point to a looming power shift. An early opinion poll has revealed a narrowing margin between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with the All Progressives Congress (APC) still holding a commanding 60% edge.



This development follows a failed attempt by Governor Ademola Adeleke to jump ship into the ruling APC, a move that reportedly backfired as internal resistance and credibility questions kept the door half-shut.



According to the opinion poll conducted across major voting blocs in Osun East, Osun Central, and parts of Osun West:


APC retains 60% strength, PDP drops to 20%, weakened by internal fractures and declining public trust


ADC climbs to 15%, rapidly gaining traction, especially among the disgruntled civil servants.



Observers say that while the APC may appear comfortable, the early warning signs shouldn’t be ignored. Analysts believe ADC’s unexpected rise signals a growing appetite for alternatives among Osun’s politically aware electorate. Frustration with traditional power blocs is translating into grassroots mobilization.


As campaigns begin to crystallize, one thing is certain, Osun 2026 won’t be business as usual.
