A member of the House of Representatives representing Ijesa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke,
has urged members of the Osun State House of Assembly from the Osun East Senatorial District, currently under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to urgently reconsider their political alignment and defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Oluwole Oke, who gave this advice on Monday, specifically urged the lawmakers to formalize their defection by tomorrow, stating that any politically smart and strategic lawmaker from the district should take the step without hesitation. He also hinted that some legislators from Osun Central Senatorial District may wish to follow the same path.
“This is just a sincere and honest advice,” Oluwole Oke said. “As a political leader, I owe you all a duty of care. I don’t want any of you to make decisions that may jeopardize your future in politics.”
Hon. Oluwole Oke further assured the lawmakers that defecting to the APC would not affect their entitlements. “Secure your political career now,” he emphasized. “Nobody can stop your salary, allowances, or your constituency project funds because of your decision.”
While addressing appointees of the Adeleke administration, Hon. Oluwole Oke advised serving Commissioners, Board Chairmen, Board Members, Special Advisers, and Senior Special Assistants from Osun East to remain in office until August 7, 2026. He noted that their continued service is guaranteed despite the unfolding political realignments in the state.
Governor Ademola Adeleke as a democrat and a leader who does not bear grudges. “Governor Adeleke is not petty. Even if you choose to insult me from morning till night, he will not take it against you,” Oluwole Oke said.
