“Osun Belongs to All of Us” – Hareter Babatunde Oralusi Declares Governorship Ambition, Promises Innovative, People-Centred Leadership

ILE-IFE, OSUN STATE – OCTOBER 9, 2025:

Businessman and development economist, Hareter Babatunde Oralusi (HBO), has formally declared his intention to contest for the office of Governor of Osun State under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming 2026 elections, pledging to “end the era of entitlement and cabal politics” and usher in a new dawn of inclusive growth, innovation, and accountable governance.

Speaking at his declaration ceremony in Ile-Ife, Oralusi said his aspiration aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, adding that Osun must complement the President’s national reforms with “state-level transformation that turns Osun into a productive, modern, and prosperous state contributing meaningfully to the New Nigeria agenda.”

“For far too long, a few individuals have treated our collective wealth as personal inheritance. That era must end. Osun belongs to all of us, our resources must serve the people, not the privileged few,” Oralusi said to an enthusiastic crowd of party leaders, elders, and supporters.

He emphasized his commitment to restoring local government autonomy, making each council area “a centre of development, enterprise, and opportunity.” His proposed agenda includes rebuilding infrastructure, empowering youth entrepreneurs, expanding access to education, and leveraging technology to create jobs and wealth for citizens.

Oralusi, who described himself as a bridge between the old and new generation, said Osun deserves a leader who “understands development economics and has built institutions, attracted investments, and implemented impactful projects both at home and abroad.”

Acknowledging His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, as a symbol of generational leadership, Oralusi commended the monarch for inspiring a new era of visionary and youthful leadership in Osun. He also expressed gratitude to APC elders and founding fathers, including Chief Bisi Akande, whom he described as “a beacon of integrity,” and other notable leaders across the three senatorial districts.

Addressing fellow aspirants, Oralusi called for unity and mutual respect, describing the coming election as one that should be based on competence, not political slogans.

“The 2026 Governorship Election will not be about political affiliation alone, it will be about competence, credibility, and the capacity to deliver,” he stated confidently.

Highlighting his leadership credentials, Oralusi referenced his work with the London School of Social Enterprise and Sustainable Economics (UK) and his role as head of the Nigerian Capital Development Fund (NCDF), where he promoted development finance, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

“I have built institutions, not just ideas. I have created jobs, not promises. I have mobilised investments, not donations,” he declared.

Concluding his address, Oralusi urged Osun people to join him in building a future anchored on innovation, integrity, and inclusive growth.

“I stand before you not as a man seeking power, but as a man offering purpose. Together, let us make Osun a beacon of development in Nigeria. The time is now, and no one will be left behind.”
