Gambian President, Adama Barrow Calls for Restraint Amid Rising Middle East Tensions

President Adama Barrow of The Gambia has called for restraint and peaceful engagement amid growing tensions in the Middle East involving the United States, the Israel, and the Iran.

In an official communiqué, President Barrow urged all parties involved in the dispute to exercise caution, respect the sovereignty of nations, and prioritize the protection of civilian lives. He warned that further escalation could deepen instability in the region and endanger innocent people caught in the conflict.

The Gambian leader emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the most effective tools for resolving international disputes and ensuring long-term peace. According to the statement, sustainable peace can only be achieved when nations choose negotiation over confrontation.

President Barrow also called on the international community to intensify efforts toward de-escalation and constructive dialogue, stressing that global cooperation is essential to preventing wider conflict in the Middle East.

As Chairman of the 15th Islamic Summit, President Barrow reaffirmed The Gambia’s commitment to peace, respect for international law, and the protection of human dignity across nations.
