Less than one year into Hon. Wole Oke’s return to the House of Representatives, Pelumi began a series of coordinated attacks, including petitions to investigative agencies against the very person he once courted for political support. How do you explain such duplicity? You seek his backing with one hand and stab him with the other.
Let’s be clear: the more pressing issue here is the total abandonment of Ijesa North by the Osun State Government. Three years into a four-year term, the area has seen next to nothing in terms of infrastructure. Our youths, the same ones who toiled and bled to deliver victory for the governor and the PDP remain unemployed and neglected.
These are the conversations that matter. These are the grievances that require attention. But Pelumi would rather distract the public with pettiness than confront the truth.
The opposition to Hon. Wole Oke’s emergence as Minority Leader of the House was never rooted in party values, it was personal. It was about envy. About insecurity. About the fear that his influence and credibility outshine those of career opportunists with no electoral base.
Ask yourself: has Wole Oke ever demanded an unopposed ticket in any election past or present? The answer is no. He has always subjected himself to democratic processes and earned the trust of his constituents over time. So let’s stop the wailing. Let’s stop the name-dropping to curry political favour. And let’s stop pretending that this is about party principles or ticket justice. It is about fear, the fear of a man who knows he can’t win on merit and seeks to rise by pulling others down.
