India announced this morning that it had carried out airstrikes on nine locations within Pakistan, including targets in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, in retaliation for a deadly terrorist attack two weeks ago that killed over two dozen civilians in Indian-administered Kashmir. According to Pakistani military sources, the strikes left at least eight people dead and 35 others injured.
One of the strikes hit Punjab province, outside the disputed Kashmir region, marking a significant escalation in the long-standing conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
