Russia carried out a large-scale drone attack on Ukraine yesterday, just one day before a planned conversation between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding a possible cease-fire. Trump also announced plans to speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and NATO leaders.
The assault involved an estimated 273 explosive drones and decoys, sweeping across Ukrainian airspace. At least one woman was killed, and several others were injured.
In response, Germany’s new chancellor, Friedrich Merz, said he had spoken with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Merz added that he, along with the leaders of France and Britain, was seeking to speak with Trump ahead of his call with Putin.
