Fresh Attacks on Accord, Public Properties: Arrest Perpetrators Before Residents Resort to Self-Help — Gov Adeleke Directs Police Authorities

Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed the Osun State Police Command to immediately arrest suspected political thugs allegedly linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following renewed attacks on public infrastructure and Accord campaign materials across Osogbo.



The Governor issued the directive amid escalating tension in the state capital, where incidents of billboard vandalisation and destruction of public properties have reportedly intensified.

Reacting to the latest wave of attacks, Governor Adeleke condemned what he described as the apparent protection being enjoyed by the perpetrators, warning security agencies against allowing the situation to degenerate into lawlessness.

The Governor particularly commended a team of policemen who reportedly foiled an attempt to destroy statues at the Abere Roundabout, but stressed that security intervention must move beyond passive responses to decisive arrests and prosecution of those involved.

“I hereby direct the Commissioner of Police to immediately effect the arrest of Asiri Eniba and his gangs who are terrorising the state. They moved around in Sienna buses, Hilux jeeps and motorcycles, shooting sporadically. The police know them and the state command should do the needful,” the Governor stated.

Describing the attacks as criminal and dangerous to public peace, Adeleke warned that continued inaction by security agencies could provoke citizens into taking the law into their own hands.

“These political criminals are now attacking public properties. Security agencies should prevent a scenario in which untamed thugs will set the State Secretariat and other government buildings on fire,” he warned.

The Governor further called on all security agencies operating in the state to rise above partisan considerations and urgently enforce law and order before the crisis spirals out of control.

“I call on all security agencies to rise to this urgent task of enforcing law and order and preventing anarchy. The police authorities must not wait for the public to resort to self-help before taking potent action,” Adeleke added.

Driver Chop Off Vehicle Inspection Officer’s Ear Over Car Particular

  A yet-to-identified Sienna car driver has reportedly bitten the ear of a Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) identified as Papu Prosper.
