US, Nigerian Forces Eliminate ISIS Commander in Major Counterterrorism Operation - Trump

 


Joint forces from the United States and Nigeria have reportedly eliminated a senior ISIS commander in what is being described as one of the most significant counterterrorism operations in West Africa in recent times.



According to international reports, the operation targeted Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, whom U.S. President Donald Trump described as the “second in command of ISIS globally.” The mission was said to have been executed after intelligence agencies tracked the militant leader’s movements across the region.




President Trump, while reacting to the operation, praised Nigerian authorities for their cooperation and described the strike as a meticulously coordinated mission aimed at weakening the operational strength of ISIS-linked networks operating within Africa.




Although official operational details remain limited, reports indicate that the slain commander was a Nigerian national previously designated as a global terrorist by U.S. authorities in 2023.



The operation comes at a time when Nigeria continues to battle insurgency, banditry, and transnational extremist threats affecting both civilian populations and regional stability.




As of press time, Nigerian security authorities had yet to release a detailed official statement regarding the full scope of the mission or whether additional suspects were apprehended during the operation.
