Karounwi, in his resignation letter, explicitly stated that his unwavering loyalty lies with Hon. Oluwole Oke and, as such, he will be joining him in the All Progressives Congress (APC).


His departure underscores what some observers are calling a continued exodus from the PDP, with key figures and mobilisers leaving the party. This latest resignation highlights the growing sentiment that the PDP is losing ground, influence, and prominent members—potentially altering the political landscape as the 2027 elections approach.
