Public and Media Communication Unit, For: Honourable Dr. Busayo Oluwole Oke
The Member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State in the National Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Honourable Dr. Busayo Oluwole Oke, has extended warm felicitations and heartfelt goodwill to his constituents, Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, party faithful, associates, and friends on the occasion of the New Year 2026.
In his New Year message, Honourable Oke described the beginning of a new year as a moment for gratitude, reflection, renewal of hope, and recommitment to shared national values. He noted that despite the challenges faced by individuals, communities, and the nation at large, Nigerians have continued to demonstrate resilience, faith, and an unbreakable spirit.
“I congratulate my dear constituents in Obokun and Oriade, our party faithful in the All Progressives Congress, my associates, supporters, and indeed all Nigerians on the gift of a new year. I pray that 2026 will usher in good health, peace, prosperity, and divine favour for every household and community across our land,” he said.
Honourable Oke emphasized that the new year presents an opportunity for renewed commitment to nation building and collective responsibility. He urged citizens to support policies and programmes of government at all levels, noting that constructive engagement and cooperation are essential for transforming reforms into tangible benefits for the people.
“As citizens, we must understand that governance is a shared responsibility. I urge Nigerians to support the policies of the government of the day so that those policies can truly yield dividends for the people. When reforms are embraced with patience, dialogue, and goodwill, they stand a better chance of delivering lasting positive outcomes,” he stated.
The lawmaker specifically called for continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the President’s reform agenda as a bold effort aimed at repositioning the nation for sustainable growth and long-term stability.
“I appeal to all Nigerians to support the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Our nation is in a phase of transition, and while reforms may come with initial discomfort, their ultimate objective is to build a stronger, more resilient economy and society that works for all. Let us remain hopeful, patient, and constructive in our engagement,” Honourable Oke added.
He further reminded Nigerians that leaders, like all citizens, are human and in need of prayers, encouragement, and cooperation to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
“Our leaders are human beings too. They need our prayers, support, and cooperation. Let us not only demand accountability but also extend goodwill and understanding, so that leadership can be exercised in an atmosphere of trust and shared purpose,” he said.
Honourable Oke also advised moderation in celebrations and festivities during the new year season, urging citizens to be mindful of economic realities and to celebrate responsibly.
He concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and fulfilling year ahead.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, I wish everyone a blessed, peaceful, and prosperous New Year 2026. May this year bring good tidings, renewed hope, and greater unity to our nation,” he stated.
