The updated five-point agenda of Ademola Adeleke is generating renewed excitement among key segments of Osun’s population, particularly youth, women, and workers, as stakeholders interpret the revised blueprint as a strategic expansion of inclusive governance.
Recently unveiled, the agenda outlines five core priorities: integrated welfare and empowerment for youth, women, and workers; infrastructure consolidation for social and economic wellbeing; agro-industrial expansion for human development and shared prosperity; access to affordable and quality healthcare and education; and the creation of a more secure and enabling business environment to drive job creation.
At the heart of public attention is the first pillar, which now explicitly incorporates youth and women alongside workers. Previously framed simply as “Citizens and Workers’ Welfare,” the revised wording has been widely welcomed as a direct response to sustained advocacy from youth and women groups across the state.
Several youth organisations, while acknowledging the administration’s performance between 2022 and 2026, had called for a more deliberate inclusion of young people in the policy framework. Their submissions emphasized the need for expanded opportunities and targeted interventions in the next phase of governance from 2026 to 2030.
Women-focused groups also contributed to shaping the updated agenda, presenting detailed proposals aimed at deepening inclusion. Among their recommendations is the institutionalisation of women-focused desks across ministries, departments, and agencies to ensure sustained attention to gender-related development priorities.
Reacting to the development, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Kazeem Akinleye, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance. He assured that the government would sustain and expand its pro-youth and pro-women initiatives if re-elected.
According to him, the updated manifesto reflects the collective aspirations of the people and signals a renewed commitment to responsive leadership.
“Osun has witnessed a strong performance of Governor Adeleke in his first term. Our people should expect more, more service delivery, more responsiveness, and greater alignment with the wishes of the populace,” Akinleye stated.
The revised agenda is seen by observers as both a consolidation of past achievements and a forward-looking strategy designed to broaden participation and deepen impact across all sectors of Osun society.
