Presidential aspirant in the last general elections, Chief CBN Onwuasoanya Ezendigbo, spoke extensively in a 28-minute interview with OrionTimes today, outlining his vision for Nigeria’s future.
“If I become president, I would ensure stability in the energy system,” Ezendigbo said, highlighting the persistent power failures that have sparked protests across several states.
He noted that while many Nigerians, Africans, and the global audience are listening, the challenge lies in average citizens being reluctant to take destiny into their own hands. “We have been speaking truth to power constructively, ensuring no one feels disrespected. That is the mark of responsible citizenship,” he added.
On the topic of mechanized farming, Ezendigbo emphasized its impact on reducing food prices. When asked if the price drop was simply due to the upcoming elections, he clarified: “If citizens do not identify and show government areas that need fixing, how would they know what to fix? This is not about fighting anyone; it’s about presenting cases for the masses in a respectful manner.”
Ezendigbo also reflected on the challenges of guiding the public in political matters: “It is not easy to tell the majority what they need to do in a rush. Politics in our country can be decided at the last hour, anything can happen, and that’s why we remain vigilant. I cannot yet confirm the party I will contest under in the 2027 presidential election.”
He further observed that while many governors, senators, and representatives are joining the ruling party, “that should not make us forget our resolve to serve responsibly and advocate for the people.”
