Youth Coalition Partners NDLEA in Fight Against Drug Abuse, Cultism, and Economic Sabotage

In a strategic and commendable effort to rally the youth of the Southwest against growing social vices, the Director General of the Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security and Safety Affairs, Ambassador Ade Mario Emmanuel, led a high-level delegation to the Osun State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).



The delegation included Hon Amb. Henry Oyebade the Osun state Cordinator of CONYSSA, and other key stakeholders, with the purpose of reinforcing partnerships aimed at combating cultism, internet fraud, money laundering, drug abuse, child trafficking, and broader forms of economic sabotage.


The NDLEA State Commander, Adetula Oluwarotimi, during the visit emphasized the critical role of young people in national development. “Youth make up the majority in any nation,” he said. “Any country that fails to take its youth seriously will have serious consequences to face.”


Adetula, welcomed the initiative and praised the role of Mrs. Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, wife of the late Osun State Governor, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, for her long-standing advocacy against drug abuse and her impact on youth-focused campaigns.




Ambassador Ade Mario, urged a return to the values that once defined the Yoruba region. “We were once known as an ideological zone. It’s time to raise awareness. Those who rose to global heights were brought up with integrity. Our culture and values need a thorough recheck,” he said.


He stressed that the issues plaguing youth in the region must be addressed holistically, through a multi-stakeholder approach that includes government agencies, traditional institutions, faith-based organizations, and community leaders.


The coalition’s visit marks a significant step in the movement to reclaim the moral and ethical foundation of Southwest Nigeria’s youth and foster a future built on integrity, discipline, and resilience.
