A gubernatorial aspirant has raised the alarm over the activities of a suspected fraudster impersonating him with the intent to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
In a public disclaimer issued on Tuesday, the aspirant warned citizens to beware of a scammer using the phone number +2349061509711, who has been contacting individuals while pretending to represent him.
“I wish to clearly state that I have no connection whatsoever with this phone number or any message, call, or solicitation originating from it. The individual behind this act is a criminal impostor, and their activities are being closely monitored,” he said.
He further urged members of the public to disregard any message, request, or financial solicitation from the said number, emphasizing that all genuine communications from him are made only through verified and official channels.
“This is a scam, and I urge everyone to stay alert and help report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities,” the statement added.
