WARD 10, ILARE-IJESA: Wave of Defection Unabated As Aide to Ex-Lawmakers Bows Out, Aligns With Wole Oke





An aide to former federal lawmakers and a foundational member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Obokun Local Government, Pastor Oyedeji Olu-Kehinde, has officially resigned from the party, citing injustice, marginalization, and entrenched irregularities as reasons for his exit.


In a strongly worded resignation letter addressed to the party leadership in Ward 10, Ilare-Ijesa, Pastor Olu-Kehinde, who is widely regarded as the leading financier of the PDP in the local government, expressed deep disappointment over what he described as the unfair allocation of political appointments and the denial of deserved recognition to loyal and hardworking members.


“The PDP in Obokun has become a party where 'Monkey dey work, Baboon dey chop',” he lamented, noting that his years of committed service and numerous efforts to correct the injustices were repeatedly ignored.


Pastor Olu-Kehinde served as an aide to both a former member of the House of Representatives (2003–2011) and a former Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District (2019–2023). He also played a strategic role as Secretary of the now-defunct Presidential, National Assembly, and State Assembly Campaign Committees on Artisans and Private Sector Mobilization in Obokun.

His defection is seen as a significant blow to the PDP's structure in the area, especially as he publicly announced his alignment with Rt. Hon. Wole Oke, whose recent political realignment continues to reshape the dynamics in Osun politics.




He thanked his political associates and supporters for their companionship since the formation of the PDP in 1998 and wished them well in their individual pursuits.
