Wait for the Signal: Wole Oke Orchestrates Silent Loyalty Ahead of Osun Political Shake-Up





In a move that hints at an impending realignment within Osun State’s political terrain, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, the Member representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has revealed that several top-ranking Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officials have been strategically advised to remain within the party for now.

Speaking during a closed-door meeting with select stakeholders, Hon. Oke described the decision as part of a long-term strategy designed to preserve political capital, secure existing appointments, and prepare the groundwork for what he termed “a 25-year movement.”



According to Oke, the individuals asked to stay put include elected Council Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Councillors, Special Advisers (SAs), Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), Commissioners, and even sitting members of the State House of Assembly. These figures, he said, remain integral to his broader political family and will realign with his direction at the appropriate time.


“This isn’t just about today or tomorrow,” Hon. Oke remarked. “This is a movement that has been nurtured over the past 25 years. It’s built on relationships, on loyalty, on results. We are not in a hurry to move for the cameras , we are moving for legacy.”


He emphasized that the temporary stay within the PDP structure is tactical, allowing beneficiaries of government positions and political goodwill to continue leveraging their influence while remaining loyal to a deeper cause.

Hon. Oke hinted that the eventual unveiling of his political blueprint would send ripples through key local government areas in Osun, including Iwo Federal Constituency, Ife North, Ife South, Atakumosa East, and Atakumosa West. According to him, the movement’s foundation cuts across party lines and generational divides anchored in vision, not vanity.


Political observers view Oke’s remarks as a calculated signal of an upcoming wave of defections and realignments that could reshape the balance of power in Osun State ahead of future elections. 


“This is not the time for everyone to jump ship,” Oke added. “But the time will come and when it does, those who stayed faithful will be recognized as the foundation of the new era.”

As speculation intensifies and party loyalties are tested, one thing remains clear: Hon. Oluwole Oke is not just playing politics,  he is playing for legacy.
