Governor Adeleke Commissions Three New Fire Service Trucks in Osun State



In a decisive step toward strengthening emergency response infrastructure, the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has commissioned three newly procured fire service trucks. The commissioning ceremony was held at the Osun State Fire Service premises within the Government Secretariat, Osogbo.

The event, aimed at boosting the state’s capacity to respond to fire emergencies, reflects the Adeleke administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Osun.

Welcoming dignitaries to the occasion, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Fadairo, who anchored the event, acknowledged the presence of several notable figures, including Hon. Rashid Aderibigbe; Senator Olu Alabi; Hon. Lasun Yusuf; Mrs. Atinuke Oyawoye; Hon. Commissioner for Rural and Youth Development, Abdulganiyu Olaoluwa; Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Michael Oyerinde; Special Adviser on Industrial Relations, Hon. Oyebade Bamidele; the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Dr. Rev. John; market leaders, and other stakeholders.

Delivering his address, Governor Adeleke described the commissioning as a critical milestone in his administration’s strategic efforts to revitalize the fire service system in Osun State.


It gives me joy to stand before you today as we commission these fire trucks.
This is an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to strengthen fire safety and emergency response services in our dear state, "the governor stated.

He noted that prior to his administration, the last procurement of fire trucks in the state occurred over fourteen years ago—a situation he described as "alarming and unacceptable." Determined to reverse this trend, the Adeleke administration has, so far, procured a total of seven modern fire trucks and one water tanker, along with essential firefighting equipment and protective gear.

The Governor further emphasized the importance of continuous training for fire officers to enhance their professionalism and operational readiness.

Highlighting his administration’s equitable approach to resource allocation, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his pledge to distribute fire trucks across all nine federal constituencies in the state, as well as the Fire Service Headquarters.


"With the commissioning of these trucks today, we are a step closer to fulfilling that promise.
Plans are already underway to procure the remaining units to ensure all regions of our state are adequately equipped, " he announced.

Governor Adeleke also issued a directive to the Commissioner for Home Affairs and the leadership of the Fire Service to establish a robust maintenance and accountability framework to ensure the longevity and efficiency of the trucks.

In conclusion, he called for collective commitment toward building a safer and more resilient Osun State.

Let us all continue to work together, to build a safer, more resilient Osun State.
