Canadian PM Carney Tells Trump: 'Canada Is Not for Sale'




Prime Minister Mark Carney of Canada met with President Trump yesterday in Washington, marking their first face-to-face since Carney’s sweeping election win on a platform sharply critical of Trump.

The meeting grew tense when Trump floated the provocative idea of making Canada the 51st U.S. state. Carney responded firmly: “Some places are not for sale.” Trump, undeterred, quipped back, “Never say never.”
