India Strikes Targets in Pakistan Amid Rising Tensions





India announced this morning that it had carried out airstrikes on nine locations within Pakistan, including targets in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, in retaliation for a deadly terrorist attack two weeks ago that killed over two dozen civilians in Indian-administered Kashmir. According to Pakistani military sources, the strikes left at least eight people dead and 35 others injured.

One of the strikes hit Punjab province, outside the disputed Kashmir region, marking a significant escalation in the long-standing conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. 


Indian officials said they were preparing for a possible retaliatory move from Pakistan, a country with which India has shared a tense and often violent relationship for more than seventy years.

The two countries have fought multiple wars, with the most recent in 1999. Since then, they have repeatedly come close to open conflict. 

As tensions rise once more, international leaders are urging restraint, warning of severe consequences if diplomacy fails.

Assassination Attempt: Police can’t deny what’s on their desk, says Amotekun boss
