The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has suffered another major setback as the chairman of Ward 4 in Oriade Local Government formally resigned his position, further deepening the crisis trailing the recent exit of Hon. Wole Oke, a prominent figure in the party.



The resignation, which was made public on Thursday, marks a new chapter in the growing list of defections rocking the PDP at the grassroots level. In his statement, the former ward chairman, Otunba Olujobi Ajibola, cited a loss of confidence in the party’s leadership and alignment with the political direction of Hon. Wole Oke, whose influence continues to reshape political dynamics in the region.

“This decision did not come lightly. Our people deserve a platform that listens, includes, and represents them with integrity. We can no longer remain in a structure that silences genuine voices,” the chairman noted.


The resignation comes weeks after Hon. Wole Oke formally withdrew from the PDP, ending decades of service as a party loyalist. His exit triggered widespread speculations and internal rumbles, especially among local leaders who see Oke as a symbol of political stability and grassroots connection.
