VIDEO: Ibokun Ward 1: Defected PDP Members Warn, ‘Downplay Wole Oke and Fall,’ Demand 500 APC Cards






In a major political shakeup, members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibokun Ward 1 have defected in large numbers to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring their loyalty to Hon. Wole Oke’s growing political force.


The decamping group, led by Mr. Festus Karonwi and Mrs. Ajigbare, made their defection official at what they described as a symbolic location — a shrine — where they called on APC leaders to issue at least 500 membership cards, signifying their full integration into the party.

tors declared: “Our umbrella tore. We kept patching it, but the situation kept getting worse. We eventually had no choice but to throw it away.”

The group further warned that anyone who underestimates Wole Oke’s influence in Osun politics is making a grave mistake. "By the time we begin, the PDP will struggle to retain even 50 members in Ibokun," one of the defectors said.

Observers believe the defection could signal a major turning point in the political landscape of Obokun and Osun State at large, bolstering the APC ahead of upcoming elections.
