"A Tattered Road and a Tattered Truth": Youth Alliance Slams Osun Commissioner for Peddling False Claims







The Esa Odo Youth Alliance has fiercely criticized Hon. Mayowa Adejorin, the Osun State Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, accusing him of spreading “deliberate falsehood” regarding infrastructural development in the community.


During a recent interview on Rave FM, Hon. Adejorin boldly declared that the road in Esa Odo had been tarred under Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, a claim the Youth Alliance did not hesitate to label “a blatant lie.” According to the group, the commissioner’s statement is not only misleading but also a calculated attempt to whitewash the failures of the current government.


“The road he claimed has been tarred is nothing but a dusty, pothole-ridden stretch of neglect,” the group said in a strongly worded statement. “What Hon. Adejorin described is a phantom project. The people of Esa Odo live with the reality daily, and no amount of radio spin can change that.”


Calling the interview “a show of shame,” the Youth Alliance said the commissioner had insulted the intelligence of the very people he swore to serve. They stressed that this kind of misinformation damages public trust and exposes a troubling culture of political deceit.


“Instead of championing real progress, Adejorin has chosen to mislead, to pretend, and to gaslight his own people,” the group added. “It’s not just disappointing, it’s disgraceful.”


They further accused the commissioner of betraying his constituency, prioritizing propaganda over tangible impact. “We expected representation, not misrepresentation,” the group declared.

In a direct appeal to Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Alliance urged the state government to rein in its officials and put an end to what they termed “media theatrics.” They called for visible, measurable development instead of “press statement governance.”

“The people of Esa Odo deserve roads they can walk and drive on, not radio drama and imaginary asphalt,” the statement concluded. “We will not be silent while the truth is buried under political mud.”
