Pelumi Olajengbesi’s emotional outburst titled “I Am Ashamed for Wole Oke” would have been laughable if it wasn’t a glaring example of what is wrong with Nigeria’s youth in politics entitled, desperate, structurally empty, and consistently allergic to political reality.

Let’s be clear: Wole Oke’s decision to move to the APC is not just his democratic right, it is a strategic repositioning rooted in decades of loyal service, tested leadership, and grassroots relevance. What Pelumi calls “a lone movement” is, in fact, the hallmark of confidence: a man who doesn’t need to rent crowds or manipulate optics to validate his decisions.

Pelumi, on the other hand, represents the modern class of armchair politicians whose only political capital is social media rants and name-dropping. Twice, you stepped down from contesting against Wole Oke, not out of respect, but because the ground under you was hollow. A politician without structure, without constituency depth, and now without dignity.

The same Pelumi who now throws tantrums was once at the mercy of the same party elders he now mocks. If Wole Oke was such a disappointment, why beg for endorsement? Why plead to be “bankrolled”? Politics is about negotiation, loyalty, and timing, something Pelumi is yet to master.

Yes, power has returned to the people  and the people still find Wole Oke worthy. What Pelumi calls “20 years with nothing to show” is pure mischief. Constituency projects, legislative advocacy, and institutional memory don’t make headlines, but they change lives. You wouldn’t know that because your politics begins and ends with press statements.

This is not a clash of parties. It is a clash of credibility. And unfortunately for you, the people of Oriade/Obokun know the difference between performance and performance art.

When your only political strength is the bitterness of a ticket you couldn’t win, the best you should do is stay quiet and build. But then again, it’s easier to insult than to inspire.
